FROM "BEING LIVED" TO "SLOW LIVING"

Hi, I'm Charline.

After more than 22 years working as an architect in Belgium, I chose to step away from a fast, demanding life and follow a slower, more rooted path. I moved with my two children to Umbria, the green heart of Italy, and settled in a small borgo called Cecanibbi, surrounded by olive groves, with a breathtaking view of the medieval town of Todi.

Architecture, interior design and art have always been part of who I am. I carried that love into the design and furnishing of my eco-design Tiny House. I wanted to create a space shaped by simplicity, balance and a strong connection to place.
Here I am embracing a more essential way of living — close to nature, the seasons and the land around me. This experience deeply shaped my vision of slow living and continues to influence everything I create today.

At the same time, life here gently pulled me closer to the earth. What began as a vegetable garden in my olive grove — shared with guests through homemade breakfasts  became a daily ritual of working with seasonal food, plants and nature. The Italians are masters in Slow and Genuine food  ...

In Umbria, I found grounding in Spirituality, the land of the Saints, (San Francesco, San Benedetto, Santa Chiara, Santa Rita ....). At the same time nature became my greatest teacher. Long walks with my dog Blu through the Umbrian landscape, gathering herbs and flowers, taught me to slow down, notice the small details and live more consciously.

With my hands in the soil, planting seeds and watching them grow, I found a deeper sense of joy and belonging. From my grandfathers came my love for the vegetable garden, and from my grandmothers a love for flowers — one I only truly reconnected with after 45 years. These experiences gently led me back to my true passion: flowers..

In 2022, I opened my Flower Farm, where I grow seasonal, sustainable flowers in harmony with the land. In 2023, I launched my botanical candle line, Botanicandels, inspired by plants, scent and craftsmanship. At the end of 2024, this journey naturally expanded into the opening of my Flower & Candle Shop in the historic center of Todi.

Alongside the farm and the shop, I host workshops and retreats focused on flowers, creativity and slow living — intimate moments where people are invited to reconnect, create with their hands and rediscover the rhythm of nature.

From 2026, a new chapter begins as the Tiny House returns to its original purpose: Tiny Living in Umbria. Nestled among the flower fields and olive trees of the farm, with panoramic views over Todi, this intimate place will welcome up to four guests — offering a genuine slow-living experience in a space that was once my own home.

Today, through Slow Living in Umbria, all these paths come together: flowers, handmade candles, workshops, retreats and places to stay — created to help you slow down, breathe and reconnect with what truly matters.

"The Slow Flowers Philosophy Sustainability, Sharing & Beauty"
Slow Flowers brings together growers and florists who work with ecological and local seasonal flowers. We are all passionate about flowers that grow to the rhythm of nature. As a member of Slow Flowers Italy, I am committed to making Italian seasonal organic flowers known to the general public and to spread the values of Slow Flowers

Ecologic

We recycle waste, both organic and non-organic. We avoid using disposable plastic. Let's choose sustainable packaging and avoid floral foam

Local & KmZero

We distribute our flowers locally and limit the distance traveled by the products. Our flowers & products are collected directly from our field.

Seasonal

I opt for seasonal outdoor cultivation. We respect the seasons. We extend the season only with techniques such as greenhouses or unheated tunnels.

Fresh Flowers

We cultivate fresh and sustainable cut flowers, edible flowers or flowers for medicinal or cosmetic applications. We produce dried flowers and flower seeds ourselves. And we transform them into bouquets or other compositions. .

No Pesticides

We do not use artificial fertilizers or chemical pesticides. We adopt a gentle and natural approach to nourish the soil. We control pests and diseases with natural or biological methods and means.

Biodiversity

In the range, we provide species that advance biodiversity. We leave areas not mowed. We keep the ground covered as much as possible (mulching or mulching) to reduce irrigation
